The results of the 2024 Simon Kenton Chili Cookoff Contest are ready to announce. Organizers thank everyone who participated.

Despite the threat of inclement weather, lots of people came out to sample chili and watch the parade. At our wrap-up meeting the Chili Cookoff Committee came up with some exciting ideas for next year’s event, including a chili dog eating contest, a best wing contest, best parade float, and lots more.

Results:

Chili Cookers – 1st place, Chubby Buddies; 2nd place, Dawg Pound Chili; 3rd place, Pour Some Chili on Me; 4th place, Bowls of Steel; 5th place, tie between Champaign Veterans and Y-Not

Corn Hole Winners – 1st place, Jamie Pernell & Chris Speekman; 2nd place, Marvin Lucas and Dylan Cotterman; 3rd place, AJ Jenkins and Jon Fisher

Pepper Eating – 1st place, Mike Meyer; 2nd place, Scioto Shaffner

Best Salsa – 1st place, Tammy Cupps; 2nd place, Pam Bolton

Suck, Chew, Blow – winner Sophia King
