CEDARVILLE – In Saturday, West Liberty-Salem won its 4th consecutive OHC boys cross country title and 14th in the past 16 years, bringing the program’s overall title count to 34.
The Tigers was first with a record 17 points and Mechanicsburg was fourth with 113.
WL-S’s Caleb Larson won the OHC Runner of the Year by placing first in 15:58.2.
Other top placers for the Tigers included Asher Knox 2nd 16:08.4, Asher Cole 3rd 16:39.0, Dylan King 4th 16:45.6 and Brayan Gullett 7th 16:52.8
“I’m extremely grateful for the hard work and time these 20 guys have put into the season,” said WL-S Coach Mike Louden. “This title is something that has been earned well before this performance.”
For Mechanicsburg, Beck Negley placed fifth in 16:50.60 and Kindon Blakesley was 26th in 18:16.70.
For Triad, Henry Beaverson was 17th in 17:32.50.
The West Liberty-Salem girls cross country team won its 10th straight Ohio Heritage Conference title here on Saturday.
WL-S was first with 34 points and Mechanicsburg was second with 64.
WL-S’s Malia Miller was the OHC Runner of the Year winning the race of 67 runners in a season-best time of 19:01.
Other top placers for the Tigers included Addi Wallen 4th 19:40, Gwen McCullough 7th 19:56, Isla Leichty 12th 21:13 and Mariska Smith 14th 21:20.
“This was a great race for the girls with many season and personal bests,” said WL-S Coach Aaron Lauck. “I feel the girls are in a good place as we enter the final phase of the season.”
For Mechanicsburg, Isabelle Rodgers was third in 19:21.30, Clair Rodgers was fifth in 19:47.40 and Evelyn Shultz was eighth in 20:21.50.
For Triad, Aubrey Johnson was 18th in 21:42.00.
The district meets will be held this Saturday.
CBC
Graham’s boys cross country team won the CBC/MRD meet with 166 points on Saturday. Ben Logan was second with 200 points.
In the CBC/KTD boys meet, Urbana was fifth with 175.
In the CBC/KTD girls meet, Urbana was second with 98 points.
In the CBC/MRD girls meet, Graham was fifth with 214 points.
