WL-S boys win at Coldwater Invitational

COLDWATER – The West Liberty-Salem boys cross country squad won the 24-team Coldwater Invitational on Saturday.

West Liberty-Salem had 46 points and Versailles was second with 54.

Top placers for the Tigers included Caleb Larson 4th 16:04.51, Asher Knox 5th 16:08.97, Asher Cole 6th 16:11.47, Brayan Gullett 15th 16:37.42, Dylan King 16th 16:40.64 and Troy Bradley 36th 17:10.41.

“I thought we had a great collective team effort on the course securing the team win,” said WL-S Coach Mike Louden. “We had 9 career PRs and 2 season bests. I couldn’t be any more proud of where this team stands heading into the OHC meet (at Cedarville) and postseason.”

The WL-S girls cross country team placed second at Coldwater.

Lincolnview was first with 107 points and WL-S was second with 115.

Malia Miller led the Tigers, finishing 2nd out 217 runners in a time of 19:11.

Other top placers included Addi Wallen 9th 19:54, Gwen McCollough 10th 20:08, Isla Leichty 22nd 20:48, Bella Hughes 89th 22:54 and Ivy Matthews 90th 22:55.

“This was a solid performance as we approach the last month of the season,” said WL-S Coach Aaron Lauck. “Malia was able to work herself up to the front of the race and battle some quality runners.”
