The Mechanicsburg boys golf team missed out on a trip to the Division III state tournament on a fifth-man tiebreaker during the district tourney at Turnberry on Wednesday.
The Indians and Newark Catholic each shot a team score of 325 to finish first, but NC’s Alex Nagel shot an 86 and Mechanicsburg’s Ozzy Roach had a 90 as the fifth men.
For the Indians, Anderson Reiser had a 76 to place third overall, William Reiser had an 80 to place ninth, Conner Eyink had an 84 and Quinn Rockenbaugh an 85.
Girls
The Graham girls golf team placed sixth with a 431 and WL-S was 12th with a 468 at the Division II girls golf district tournament at Pipestone on Wednesday.
Graham’s Zoey Merritt shot an 83 and missed out on qualifying for state by five strokes.
