WL-S, Triad lose; Indians pound Greenon

WEST LIBERTY – Alex Horney rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns as Greeneview downed WL-S, 42-14, in OHC football Friday night.

Trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, WL-S tied the game on Nick Shifflet’s 43-yard touchdown pass to Jack Bahan.

A Horney TD pass in the second quarter gave the Rams a 14-7 lead at the half.

Horney’s touchdown run early in the third quarter gave Greeneview a 21-7 lead, but the Tigers responded with Shifflet’s 22-yard TD pass to Bahan moments later.

Greeneview scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

Shifflet completed 14 of 24 pass attempts for 202 yards and Bahan had eight receptions for 133 yards.

Greeneview had 368 total yards compared to 290 for WL-S.

The Tigers (2-1) play at Southeastern this Friday night.

Mechanicsburg 40, Greenon 12

ENON – Conley Bogard tossed four touchdown passes to four different receivers as Mechanicsburg pounded winless Greenon, 40-12, in OHC football Friday night.

For the Indians, Ronnie Thomas had three sacks to lead the defense.

Bogard completed 16 of 22 pass attempts for 246 yards.

Austin Haynes, Chris Ritchie, Eli Wilson and Tevin Mitchell each had a TD reception.

Mechanicsburg (2-1) hosts Cedarville this Friday night.

Southeastern 35, Triad 13

NORTH LEWISBURG – Southeastern knocked off Triad, 35-13, in OHC football Friday night.

Southeastern led, 21-0, at the half.

Triad (1-2) plays at Madison Plains this Friday night.

Southeastern defeated Triad, 22-0, in junior high football on Thursday.

Greeneview beat WL-S, 35-14, in junior high football on Thursday.

Brandel Sullivan led the Tiger offense with a 54-yard touchdown reception from Grant Krabill and a 1-yard run for his second TD. Sullivan also threw a two-point conversion pass to Foster King.
