Indians, Tigers prevail; Triad falls

MECHANICSBURG – Six different players scored as Mechanicsburg defeated Cedarville, 42-6, in OHC football Friday night.

Colton Walborn, Ronnie Thomas, Denver Caudill, Conner Eyink, Conley Bogard and Eli Wilson each scored a TD for the Indians, who trailed, 6-0, early in the game.

Bogard completed 9 of 13 pass attempts for 106 yards and Eyink completed 5 of 8 for 57 yards.

The Indians (3-1) play at Springfield Catholic Central this Friday night.

WL-S 41, Southeastern 0

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Nick Shifflet passed for two touchdowns as West Liberty-Salem routed Southeastern, 41-0, in OHC football Friday night.

For the Tigers, Josiah Stidham added 120 yards rushing and two TDs and Jacob Evans had six receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

WL-S led, 7-0, at the end of the first quarter and 20-0 at the half.

Shifflet completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 236 yards.

The Tigers had 511 total yards compared to 131 for the Trojans (1-3).

WL-S (3-1) hosts Madison Plains this Friday night.

Madison Plains 38, Triad 14

LONDON – Colby Stoughton rushed for 173 yards as Madison Plains defeated Triad, 38-14, in OHC football Friday night.

The Cardinals (1-3) host Greeneview this Friday night.

Madison Plains beat Triad, 27-0, in junior high football on Thursday.

WL-S downed Southeastern, 32-0, in junior high football on Thursday. Brandel Sullivan led the Tigers with a 36 yard touchdown run and a 22 yard TD reception from Grant Krabill. Sullivan also threw a 15 yard touchdown pass to Jack Harman, along with running for a 2-point conversion and throwing a 2-point conversion pass to Foster King. Krabill added to the scoring with a 10 yard TD run, along with a 2 point conversion run and a 2 point conversion pass to Harman.

Sullivan helped lead the defense with an interception and a fumble recovery. Mack Heminger also recovered a fumble, while Nate Shively had a sack.
