The House system has been in place in the Urbana Junior High for the last five years.

Students are divided and their House “families” provide academic support, friendship, and fun competitions throughout the school year.

Students from Five Point House spent some of their family time preparing buckeye bags for the fourth graders. The elementary students in the fourth grade are learning about Ohio history and some of the symbols that represent our state.

Junior high students created kits that included a coloring sheet about Ohio symbols, Ohio trivia questions, and the materials necessary to create buckeye key chains.

The older students had a contest of their own to see if they could remember the symbols that they had learned in the past. The winners won the best kind of buckeye, the tasty chocolate kind.
