Car show set for Mechanicsburg on Saturday

MECHANICSBURG – Our Towne Mechanicsburg will host the Hometown Heroes Car Show (formerly First Responders Car Show) on Saturday, Aug. 31 in downtown Mechanicsburg.

Proceeds will benefit Mechanicsburg Fire/EMS and police. You can register vehicles from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. with awards at 3 p.m.

Registration fee is $10. There will be food vendors, raffles and a silent auction.

Live music will be by Bill Purk and Reed Jones from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. by the Gently Used Band. There will also be a D.J. spinning music.

Special to the show will be the official Oscar Mayer Wienermobile on site for photo opportunities. Terry Varvel of Indiana, who is a Barney Fife tribute artist who performs at events all over the U.S. and was in the Mayberry Man movie, will appear with his 1961 Ford Fairlane squad car.
