Urbana FFA members participate at Ohio State and Champaign County Fairs

Students in the Urbana FFA showed at the Ohio State Fair and Champaign County Fair with their supervised agricultural experience projects. Some species that were shown were market chickens, beef feeders, steers, goats, sheep, dairy heifers, and swine.

At the state fair, Sam Wilhelm participated and placed 3rd overall with market chickens as well as 3rd overall at the Champaign County Fair. He was also 2nd in his age group for the Outstanding Market Exhibitor. Other participants for market chickens were Michael Hooten, Lauren Stolling, and Mason Farmer. Xavier Phillips showed a beef feeder and received 3rd overall. Sam also participated in showing beef.

In goats, Michael Hooten showed. Lola Rice showed sheep and participated in a FFA showmanship class and won grand champion in her division. She also participated in two FFA classes and received grand champion in the second class. In the FFA market class Lola placed 1st. Morgan Richards showed a dairy heifer at state placing 3rd and 4th. For county she received junior reserve champion in other classes she placed both 1st and 5th. Morgan also showed swine and received 4th and 5th places. Others that showed in swine were Nathan Deere, Max Anderson, Lyza Forson, and Kenadi McKee.
