The public is invited to a free music performance sponsored by the Champaign County Arts Council and the Art Club to be held at Ken Wright’s home, 560 East Lawn Avenue on June 13 at 6 p.m. It features three performers.

Christina Darding has studied music since age 11 furthering her classical guitar studies at Wittenberg University while in high school. Following high school, she studied piano at Sinclair Community College and completed her undergraduate degree at the Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, in classical guitar performance. Christina currently teaches guitar, piano and ukulele through the Center for Musical Development Preparation Department at Wittenberg University.

She is also the founder of Elements Music Studio in Springfield, Ohio. Elements is a flourishing music school that offers lessons for over 13 instruments with seven teachers on staff.

Savannah Niarchos is a dancer and soprano vocalist from Miami, Fla. Her musical journey began with the Frost School of Music’s youth program, where she learned piano before picking up the violin when she was 12, and voice when she was 17.

Her dance experience covers a variety of styles ranging from ballet to tap to hip hop. Savannah has recently graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Minor in Interdisciplinary Studies this May. While in college, she performed in several venues with her colleagues in the Classical and Jazz music styles; with one performance involving her tap dancing to Take The “A” Train by Louis Armstrong.

Tom Kushmaul is senior data analyst in the Supply Chain department for Premier Health. He lives in Urbana with his wife Elizabeth Bush. A graduate of Heidelberg University in Tiffin, he has played piano and electronic keyboard professionally for over 40 years in classical, theatre, popular and jazz styles. Recently he played Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story with the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra.

In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held at Mike Major Studio/CCAC, 119 Miami Street, Urbana.
