Man dies after being thrown from car during police chase

CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old man has died after being thrown from a car that collided with another vehicle during a police chase in Cincinnati.

WCPO-TV reports ( ) the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as Zyron Day.

Cincinnati police say Day was a passenger in a car being chased by a Hamilton County deputy sheriff early Saturday in the city’s Mount Lookout neighborhood. Police say the car was driven by a 26-year-old man who fled after the crash and was arrested about two hours later. He wasn’t injured.

Day was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash.
