Authorities release name of Glenwood slaying suspect

GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have released the name of an Ohio man suspected of shooting to death an 18-year-old woman in western Iowa.

Twenty-seven-year-old Mark Troutman, of Sylvania, Ohio, was arrested at a Glenwood motel Saturday night. He’s being held on $5 million bail in Mills County Jail. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment for Troutman.

The Mills County attorney says Glenwood police officers found Kathryn Weber bleeding and lying on the ground outside the Linnwood Estates assisted living facility around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. She was soon pronounced dead.

Spokesman Alex Murphy with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says Troutman and Weber were acquainted.
