CLEVELAND (AP) — A 20-year-old man who police say was driving a car that crashed and killed three teenage passengers in Cleveland has been charged in the crash.
Cleveland.com reports (http://bit.ly/29GyEMH ) that Kareem Walton is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault. The Cleveland man is due in court Wednesday. Court records don’t show an attorney for Walton.
Police say Walton sped past officers at 80 mph before he lost control and his car smashed into a large tree early Saturday. He told police he was taking five passengers to a party. Police say he told officers it was raining and he thought his brakes “went out.”
Police identified the 17-year-old passengers from Euclid killed in the crash as Alexandria Winegarner, Takia Jackson and Daija Wynne. Two other passengers were injured.
