CINCINNATI (AP) — Hundreds of people have gathered for a Black Lives Matter rally in Cincinnati following the fatal shootings of black men by police in Louisiana and Minnesota in the past week.
The rally and march Sunday also came three days after a black sniper shot and killed five white police officers in Dallas in apparent retaliation for the shootings.
The rally began at the Cincinnati Police Department’s District One headquarters and was scheduled to move later to a nearby park.
Speakers denounced police violence against blacks to rounds of applause and chants of “Black Lives Matter!”
Similar marches and rallies have been held around the country in recent days, including hundreds of people who gathered at the Ohio Statehouse Saturday.
