Ohio joins human trafficking effort ahead of GOP convention

CLEVELAND (AP) — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says his office will join a new effort to recognize and stop human trafficking ahead of the Republican National Convention.

DeWine’s office in a statement says the new campaign scheduled to be announced Thursday hopes to raise public awareness of human trafficking and to educate people on the signs that human trafficking is occurring.

DeWine plans to join officials from the Collaborative to End Human Trafficking and members of Greater Cleveland’s Coordinated Response to Human Trafficking for an event in Cleveland on Thursday.
