LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — A pretrial hearing is planned in the murder case of an Arizona man arrested last year in a 1992 slaying.
Warren County Common Pleas Judge Donald Oda (OH’-duh) earlier rescheduled the trial from this month to begin Oct. 31 for Sam Perone (pir-OHWN’-ee). Perone has pleaded not guilty to murder and denies involvement in the death of Richard Woods, a rival Ohio furniture salesman. He remains held on $750,000 bond.
The two sides have been at odds over evidence that can be used at trial. Oda plans to hear pretrial matters Friday.
The body of the 41-year-old Dublin, Ohio, man was found with gunshot wounds to the head in a ravine near Perone’s Lebanon (LEB’-uh-nun) store. Blood was found on a square of carpet in the store.
