SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — Thunderstorms in parts of Ohio are bringing powerful winds that have caused some reported damage.
Many counties in northeast Ohio were under a severe thunderstorm watch or warning as a front was moving through the state on Sunday.
A spokesman for Cedar Point amusement park, in Sandusky, said traffic there was being diverted after a nearby roadway was closed as a result of downed power lines and debris from the Sunday afternoon storm. Sections of the park are without power, he said, but Cedar Point remains open as authorities work to restore power.
The Sandusky Register reports the storm also downed trees and power lines in the city’s downtown area.
