Death certificates reveal new details about Ohio shootings

PIKETON, Ohio (AP) — Death certificates have been filed that indicate seven of the eight slain relatives from a southern Ohio family were shot only in the head, most of them repeatedly.

The Columbus Dispatch reports ( ) the death certificates signed by Pike County Coroner Dr. David Kessler say that 40-year-old Christopher Rhoden Sr. was only one of eight who was shot somewhere other than the head.

Rhoden was among seven adults and a 16-year-old boy from the same family who were found dead at four properties near Piketon in April. There have been no arrests and no suspects have been named.
