The OHIO CD 8 Special Congressional ELECTION is Tuesday, June 7, 2016.
Poll Close: 7:30 p.m. Eastern
First results expected: 7:56 p.m. Eastern
Testing Dates and Times (Eastern):
2:30 — 3:30 p.m. May 23, 25, 26 (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)

2:30 — 3:30 p.m. June 6 (Monday)
—This advisory will be updated throughout the testing period. AP Exchange search criteria for one state and for multiple states:
apgeography_name=(Ohio) AND category=”v” AND slug=(Election Testing Or Caucus Testing)
—Zeros will be transmitted after testing on the eve of the election, Monday, June 6. There will be a live zero transmission from 1-2 p.m. Eastern on Election Day.
—Race calls: AP will make race calls on election night, unless a race is too close to call. Race calls will be made during testing, except on the day of the final test, Monday, June 6.
—Races and candidates are considered final. AP will advise of any changes.
—Race-specific precinct totals in early tests are preliminary. AP will advise when precinct totals are updated and final for election night.
—End of tabulation: AP will advise when its election night tabulation of results has concluded, generally before 6 p.m. Eastern the day after the election.
The AP will tabulate the Special General Election for the US House 8th District seat vacated by John Boehner. This election determines who holds the seat for the rest of 2016.
—Test results are created electronically to test the accuracy of the election night reporting system and do not reflect an expectation of election results. They should not be broadcast, published, replicated or posted on websites.
—It is vital to read daily advisories during the testing period. Advisories move to premium subscribers’ FTP folders and news service advisory queues. Advisories will note updates to reports affecting candidates, races, precinct totals, etc., and will indicate the date when the updates will appear. Changes may be made up to Election Day.
—Capture each test during the testing period, including the day before the election. Confirm (1) you have the latest updates, (2) reports include votes for each candidate in each race, and for digital users (3) every race goes to 100 percent of precincts reporting, unless otherwise noted in an advisory.
—All reports move to news and broadcast services in each test. Frequency of test reports may not reflect the election night schedule detailed below. For example, county tables for contested U.S. House races move to Member Choice subscribers in each hour-long test, but will move just twice on election night. Premium service subscribers should note schedules for their regular AP services and for FTP folders.
