COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sik) has appointed the chief legal officer to Ohio’s insurance fund for injured workers as the agency’s new leader.
Sarah Morrison takes over as administrator and CEO of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation from Steve Buehrer (BYUR’-er). She had been serving in an interim capacity since Buehrer left the post April 15 after more than five years.
Kasich’s office said Morrison has been an important part of the bureau’s leadership team that helped drive Ohio’s workplace injury rate below the national average. The Republican governor said he is confident she can continue the bureau’s work in strengthening Ohio’s business climate.
Morrison joined the bureau in November 2012 after 15 years in private law practice.
