CLEVELAND (AP) — Filming of a new installment in the billion-dollar “Fast and Furious” movie franchise will tie up some traffic in Cleveland during the next few weeks.
Cleveland.com (http://bit.ly/1UZOqmk ) reports the crews are arriving next week to shoot car racing scenes for “Fast 8,” which stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Charlize Theron. It’s currently being filmed in Cuba.
“Fast 8” takes place in New York City, so it’s possible Cleveland will once again be playing the Big Apple on the big screen. The filming will involve cars racing up and down Superior and St. Clair avenues.
The movie is expected to create nearly 400 jobs, do business with 200 companies and book more than 8,200 hotel room nights during the Cleveland shoot.
“Fast 8” hits theaters next April.
