HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — Two people were injured when a house exploded and burned in Hamilton, north of Cincinnati.
Police said the Friday afternoon explosion sent a man and woman to the hospital, but their conditions weren’t available.
Firefighters arrived to find the two-story brick house already collapsing and live wires in the street. Neighbors say it had been vacant recently.
Deputy Chief Ken Runyan said the two people walked in the back door and the explosion happened when one of them struck a lighter so they could see.
The house will be demolished.
