AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 9-year-old girl called 911 to report her brother had been shot dead and her mother was shot multiple times in northeastern Ohio.
Akron police say the mother was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. They say the girl was in the home at the time, but wasn’t injured.
Police say 28-year-old Christopher Lane-Freeman was shot to death in an upstairs bedroom about 10 p.m. Sunday. They say 48-year-old Sonia Freeman was found downstairs on the floor. Police report that she said she was shot while confronting three men who came into the home and shot her son.
Police say they are still investigating and don’t yet have a motive in the shootings.
No arrests were immediately made in the case Monday.
