COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A man accused of fatally shooting two men and wounding another has been indicted on murder charges in central Ohio.
Franklin County’s prosecutor says a grand jury on Wednesday indicted 28-year-old Mario Hamilton on charges including aggravated murder, murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
Court records don’t list an attorney for Hamilton.
He is accused of killing 25-year-old Van Douglas Darling III and 22-year-old Janae Gresham and injuring 27-year-old Enouch Kermue on April 10. The shootings occurred near an apartment complex in the Columbus suburb of Reynoldsburg.
Authorities say the suspect was arrested after he fled to a nearby apartment.
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says Hamilton could be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole if he is convicted.
This story has been corrected to show that Hamilton was indicted on Wednesday, not Thursday.
