BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio university and its faculty have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract that includes 3 percent pay raises each year for three years.
The Blade in Toledo reports (http://bit.ly/1SCxhJD ) Bowling Green State University and the faculty union have issued a joint statement saying both sides are happy with the outcome.
An additional $1 million would be given to faculty, though the distribution hasn’t been determined.
School officials say a committee will suggest ways the money can make faculty salaries competitive with other schools.
Bonuses would be given to professors who win external grants under the deal.
Faculty members plan to vote on the deal later this month. The university’s Board of Trustees plans to vote next month.
If approved, the contract would go into effect in July.
