AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A man accused in the fatal shootings of a father and his two teenage children during a home invasion robbery on New Year’s Eve 2013 has been found guilty of aggravated murder.
A Summit County prosecutor says jurors on Thursday night also found 33-year-old Eric Hendon guilty of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and felonious assault. A message left Friday seeking comment from Hendon’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned.
Authorities say the Akron man shot 52-year-old John Kohler and Kohler’s 18-year-old stepdaughter and 14-year-old son in the head at their Barberton home. Kohler’s girlfriend was shot in the head but survived.
Authorities say the shootings occurred during an attempted marijuana theft.
Hendon could receive the death penalty. The trial’s sentencing phase is set for April 19.
