AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Jurors have begun deliberating in the trial of a northeast Ohio man charged in the fatal shooting of a father and his two teenage children during a home invasion robbery on New Year’s Eve 2013.
Jury deliberations began Wednesday afternoon in the trial of Eric Hendon. Hendon has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated murder and other counts in the slayings of 52-year-old John Kohler and Kohler’s 18-year-old stepdaughter and 14-year-old son at their Barberton home. They were shot in the head. Kohler’s girlfriend was shot in the head but survived.
Hendon could face the death penalty if convicted.
Hendon’s brother, 23-year-old Michael Hendon, was sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted earlier this year in the slayings.
