Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor to induct 20 veterans

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor will induct 20 veterans into this year’s class.

The public induction ceremony on April 29 at the Atrium of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus will bring the total number of inductees to 313. That includes six who have received the Medal of Honor.

The hall was founded in 2000 to honor Ohio military veterans who have received medals for valor on the battlefield.

Hall officials say the 2016 class includes representatives from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps who served during World War II. Other veterans to be inducted this year served in conflicts in Afghanistan, the Dominican Republic, Iraq, Korea and Vietnam.

Inductees must have been born in Ohio or entered military service from Ohio.
