WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is reporting raising about $26 million in April in his primary challenge to Hillary Clinton.
Sanders’ fundraising total is a decline from the $46 million he raised in March. His campaign hasn’t yet reported how much it spent in March or how much it has in the bank heading into May.
The Vermont senator has now raised about $210 million since launching his campaign a year ago. The campaign says last month’s total far outpaces his average of $17 million raised per month.
Clinton entered April with $29 million in the bank compared with $17 million for Sanders. Clinton’s campaign has not yet released its fundraising totals in April.
Sanders plans a news conference Sunday afternoon in Washington to mark one year as a candidate.
