Urbana University shortstop Caitlyn Stoner of Mount Gilead racked up another postseason award Monday after being selected to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) All-Atlantic Region Second Team.

The prestigious CCA all-region teams recognize only two shortstops among the Mountain East Conference, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Stoner also garnered All-MEC First Team and All-MEC Tournament honors in her final season as a Blue Knight.

In only three years, she established UU softball career records in home runs (18) and walks (67), while finishing among the top performers in the following categories:

* second-highest on-base percentage (.457)

* tied for second-highest career slugging percentage (.599)

* tied for third-highest career average (.359), tied for third-most stolen bases (39)

* fourth-most runs scored (94)

* tied for fifth-most doubles (26)

* fifth-most RBI (80)

During 45 games in the 2017 season, Stoner hit .344 with team-high marks for home runs (10), RBI (38), walks (25) and runs (28).

She registered nine doubles, three triples and went 10 for 12 on stolen-base attempts.

Stoner was tabbed All-MEC First Team in 2015 and All-MEC Second Team/Freshman of the Year in 2014.
