WL-S girls win home invite

WEST LIBERTY – West Liberty-Salem hosted a quad track meet on Monday, with the girls winning and the boys finishing second. Triad also competed, with the girls finishing third and the boys finishing third.

Winning events for the Tiger girls were Jenna Magnuson (shot put, 31-08; discus, 77-08), Janie Kopus (high jump, 5-00), Lydia Moell (pole vault, 9-06; 300 hurdles, 50.83), Addy Johnson (100 hurdles, 18.58), Grace Adams (400, 1:08; 800, 2:42), the 4×800 relay of Taylor Lauck, Reghan Bieleski, Grace Adams and Payton Umphries (10:45), the 4×200 relay of Janie Kopus, Megan Dillon, Lydia Moell and Taylor Lauck (1:53) and the 4×100 relay of Addy Johnson, Megan Dillon, Kaylee Harrison and Paige Shafer (54.33).

Earning second were Maria St. Pierce (discus), Lydia Moell (long jump), Megan Dillon (pole vault), Sarah Painter (1,600) and Katie Hartsel (3200).

Taking third were Alex Burton (shot put), Kaylee Harrison (long jump), Savannah Weaver (high jump), Payton Umphries (200), Jenna Magnuson (3200), the backup 4×800 team of Sarah Painter, Anna Louden, Bianca Reames and Lauren Fowler, the backup 4×200 relay of Addy Johnson, Savannah Weaver, Kaylee Harrison and Paige Shafer and the backup 4×100 relay team.

Winning for the Cardinal girls was Holly Cole (1,600, 6:14; 3,200, 13:16).

Taking third were Sierra Chesley (100 hurdles) and Bailey Stachiw (300 hurdles).

Winning events for the Tigers boys were Thad Lawrence (shot put, 38-2.5), Konnor Smith (pole vault, 10-00), Michael Conley (1,600, 5:05), Sam Strickland (400, 55.71; 800, 2:15), the 4×200 team of Christian Parker, Brandon Wolfe, Ian Wolfe and Raiph LeVan (1:35) and the 4×100 team of Brandon Wolfe, Ian Wolfe, Raiph LeVan and Christian Parker (45.91).

Taking second were Brandon Wolfe (long jump), Alex Fitzpatrick (high jump), Isaac Smith (1,600) and Michael Conley (800).

Nabbing third were Brandon Wolfe (shot put) and Christian Parker (100; 200).

Winning for the Cardinals boys was Jackson Lightle (discus).

Taking second were Harley Huffman (shot put), Eli O’Brien (200) and the 4×200 team of Daniel Brennan, Eli Carson, Ian Crabtree and Eli O’Brien.

Nabbing third were Eli Carson (high jump), the 4×100 team of Daniel Brennan, Jackson Lightle, Dominick McFarland and Eli O’Brien and the 4×400 team of Daniel Brennan, Eli Carson, Ian Crabtree and Jackson Lightle.

MHS runs at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE – Mechanicsburg competed at the Impson Invitational at Cedarville University on Saturday.

The Mechanicsburg boys placed 13th out of 18 teams.

Frank Magyar placed 2nd in the pole vault (11-0).

The Mechanicsburg girls placed 12th out of 17 teams.

Shannon Barch placed 2nd in the discus at 88-11.
