Falcons, Indians prevail

ST. PARIS – Graham won a Division II sectional wrestling tournament at Graham High School on Saturday.

The Falcons crowned 12 champions. Tanner Jordan (106 pounds), Dawson Show (113), Jordan Crace (120), Jeffrey Thomas (126), Mitch Moore (132), J.D. Stickley (138), Joey Sanchez (145), Rocky Jordan (152), Ryan Thomas (160), Hunter Hyden (170), Gage Braun (182) and Johnny Shafer (220) won titles for Graham and will wrestle at the district.

Kavan Sarver (195) finished second and Khrizdon VanHoose (285) was fourth. Both advanced to district.

In the other Division II sectional at Graham, Urbana was tied for fourth place. The Hillclimbers advanced six wrestlers to the district.

Austin Murray (113) won a title for the Hillclimbers.

Braeden Lehman (152) and Issac Craft (195) each finished second, Gavyn Grim (126) and Damion Williams (145) each finished third and Lucas Chess (106) was fourth.

The Division II district tournament will be held Friday and Saturday at Wilmington High School.

M’burg wins at Lehman Catholic

SIDNEY – Mechanicsburg won the Division III wrestling sectional held at Sidney Lehman High School on Saturday. West Liberty-Salem was 14th and Triad was 17th.

For Mechanicsburg, nine wrestlers advanced to the district tournament. Tyler Wetzel (126), Alex Rhine (132), Tanner Smith (145), Colt Yinger (152) and Kaleb Romero (170) each won a title.

Corey Bogan (160), Dylan Hartman (220) and Dylan Hartley (285) each finished second. Dustin Knapp (182) was third.

West Liberty-Salem’s Tanner Workman (120) finished second and teammate Charlie Williams (160) finished third to advance.

Triad’s Zack Zizzo (145) finished third to advance.
