KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Urbana University men’s soccer team will pick up where it left off last season, earning a spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national preseason rankings.

The Blue Knights check in as the 16th-ranked squad in the NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, which is the same spot where they finished last fall.

UU is looking to build off the most successful season in school history after going 13-5-2 and advancing to the NCAA Atlantic Region Semifinals.

The Blue Knights earned their first-ever national ranking last September and remained among the top-25 teams the rest of the way. It was the first national ranking for any Division II program at UU.

Preseason camp gets underway next week as the Blue Knights prep for their season opener Sept. 1 at Ohio Dominican. All-Atlantic Region honorees Nathan Jones and Lewis Dunne headline the group of returners for UU.

Defending national champion Pfeiffer University is the top-ranked team, while MEC-rival Charleston is ranked second.

The Blue Knights and Golden Eagles will play twice this season, including a home game at UU Stadium set for Oct. 12.
