VORES CTS Series at Shady Bowl

DeGRAFF — The VORES Compact Touring Series will be the stars of the speedway this Saturday when the series will race at Shady Bowl Speedway.

The Indiana-based sanctioning body features full bodied front wheel drive racers much like the tuner class that races at Shady Bowl.

West Liberty driver Gary Eaton, Jr. is a past champion of the series and is expected to be on hand. Ron Masters of Mechanicsburg was the 2015 champion. Masters began his career at Shady Bowl and is the father-in-law of Eaton. The championship was a career first for Masters. Bryant and Blake Eaton serve as crew members on the #7C Honda Prelude.

The late models, street stocks and pure stocks will also be on the card. In addition the spectator drag racing will return. Fans will be allowed to race the cars they drove to the track. It will see two cars at a time running one lap from a standing start.

The winner will go on to challenge another driver until only one remains. He will be declared the overall winner.

Racing will begin at 7 p.m.
