Rain again wipes out racing at Shady Bowl

DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway fell victim to the wrath of Mother Nature on Saturday. All-day rains forced track owner Rick Young to cancel the Bill Lewis Memorial and the custom car show. No make-up date has been announced.

Thia Saturday, Shady Bowl will honor the memory of Urbana’s Neal Sceva.

Sceva was a top driver in the tri-state area posting over 600 career feature wins. Sceva’s career was cut short when he lost his battle with cancer.

The Sceva Memorial for this season will be a 51-lap street stock main. The modifieds, pure stocks and tuners wll also be on the schedule. It will also be a Relay for Life fund-raiser. The proceeds will benefit leukemia and lymphoma research.

Racing will start at 7 p.m.
