The West Liberty-Salem boys soccer team lost to Miami East, 3-1, in non-league action.

The game was 2-1 with 4 minutes left when Miami East clinched the game with a late goal.

Ralph Levan scored for the Tigers from a Cole McDaniel assist. Elias Kirker-Napiorkowski tallied 9 saves in goal.

Junior high football

WL-S beat Northeastern, 33-6, in junior high football.

Zayne Reed scored 2 rushing touchdowns for the Tigers. Trevor Woodruff threw two touchdowns passes, completing one to Matthew Loffing and the other to Ethan Cole.

Cole also kicked 3 extra points for the Tigers. Jace Wade completed the scoring with a run for a touchdown.

On defense, Tyler Douthwaite had an interception while Eli McGill, Zach Glock and Jake Wilcoxon each had a fumble recovery.

Ethan Larson, Kyle Wolfe and Reed all had a tackle for a loss to help slow down the Jets’ offense.
