WL-S JH girls place 2nd at state track meet

The West Liberty-Salem junior high girls track team placed second at the state middle school meet on Saturday with only one-third of its team able to compete.

Placing first was the 4×800 relay team of Maddie Bahan, Selena Weaver, Kaitlyn Michael, and Payton Umphries.

Also in first place was the 4×400 relay team of Weaver, Michael, Umphries and Sophie Cole.

In second place was the 4×200 relay team of Katelyn Stapleton, Lydia Moell, Cole and Grace Estes.

Estes was 5th in the 100 hurdles and 4th in the 200 hurdles.

Moell was 5th in the pole vault and 7th in 200 hurdles.

Bahan was 5th in the 3,200 meters.

Stapleton was 8th in the 1,600 and 5th in the 800.

Kambree Cox was 10th in the shot put and Anna McGill was 11th in the discus.

10-u baseball

Tim’s Towing defeated Moose #1215, 16-3. Logan Dale and Sam Wilhelm were standouts for Tim’s. Riley Wallace and Max Cobb were standouts for Moose.
