GHS, UHS compete at districts

ST. PARIS – Urbana and Graham competed in the Division II district track preliminaries on Thursday.

Advancing to the finals on Saturday on the boys’ side were George Bugg (GHS, 110H), Nick Johnson (UHS, 100), Austin Brayton (GHS, 100), Tristan Lynxwiler (UHS, 1,600), Mitch Moyer (UHS, 300H), Urbana’s 4×200 team, Graham’s 4×100 team and Urbana’s 4×100 team.

Advancing to the finals on the girls’ side was Ashton Arnett (GHS, 100H).

No athletes from either school advanced to the regional competition in events that were final on Thursday.

Competition will continue here on Saturday.

Urbana tennis players fall

CENTERVILLE – Urbana’s district competitors met their end Thursday in the first round of boys tennis competition at Centerville.

Nick Shank and Greg Coffey lost to Miami Valley’s Michael Perevozchikov and Joe Keller, 6-3, 6-1.

Mklaine Eggleston and Langston Kitchen lost to Wyoming’s Joe Kelly and Nolan Morley, 6-3, 6-1.

8-u softball

Roush Repair/CT beat Jim’s Towing, 10-7.

Standouts were Addison Mattox and Kaylena Kielman.
