WL-S JH girls prevail at OHC track meet

The WL-S junior high girls won the OHC track meet Thursday by over 150 points, bringing their undefeated season to a record of 72-0.

Winning the 100 and 200 in school record and meet record times

Alex Burton won the 100 abd 200 in school record times of 12.82 and 26.79, respectively.

Winning the 4×200 in school record and meet record time was the team of Megan Dillon, Lydia Moell, Sophie Cole and Grace Estes in 154.56

Winning the 800 and 1,600 meters in school record and meet record times was Kate Stapleton in 2.27 and 5:27.

Other first-placers were 100 hurdles Grace Estes 17.26; 400 meters Payton Umphries 1:05.39; 200 hurdles, Gracie Estes 31.52; pole vault Lydia Moell 8.0; long jump Caidryn Wade 14-5; discus, Gracie Serna 100-2; 4×100 relay team of Emily Scott, Caidryn Wade, Julia Ames and Alex Burton 55.9 and the 4×400 relay team of Payton Umphries, Grace Adams, Selena Weaver and Kate Stapleton 4:34.5.

Summer Youth Flag Rugby registrations are open now. The deadline is June 1. On June1, a player draft will be held at Urbana’s Melvin Miller Park soccer fields at 5 p.m. Rregistrations will be available at that event.
