Ober leads Cardinals to victory in softball

CEDARVILLE – Triad beat Cedarville, 13-1, in OHC softball on Wednesday.

For the Cardinals, Jenna Ober earned the win and went 2 for 4 with 5 RBI and Abby Ehrenborg added a triple.

Triad (14-9, 10-4) plays at West Jefferson on Friday.

MHS baseball wins

Mechanicsburg beat Catholic Central, 13-1, in OHC baseball on Wednesday.

For MHS, Cody Newsome was 3 for 5 with a triple and 5 RBI, Colton McMannis was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Jake Bowers was 2 for 3.

MHS softball wins

Mechanicsburg beat Catholic Central, 15-0, in OHC softball on Wednesday.

For the Indians, Jessica Maddux was 2 for 3, Elysha Stapleton had a double and 2 RBI and Elly Schipfer was 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and 3 RBI.

MHS (11-7) plays at Cedarville on Friday.

Graham girls place 2nd

ST. PARIS – The Graham High School girls track team took 2nd place overall at a quad meet held at Dallas Stadium on Tuesday.

Earning first place for the Falcons were Ashton Arnett (100m hurdles), Carly Carafa (200m dash) and Kayla Tullis (shot put).

Second-place finishers included the 4×200 and 4×100 relay teams of Valerie Smith, Tullis, Natalie Woodward and Carafa. Also finishing second were Ashton Arnett (300M hurdles), Sarah Henry (high jump) and Tori Crabtree (long jump).

For the WL-S boys at the Graham meet, Brandon Wolfe won the long jump with a leap of 18-7.5 to lead the Tigers.

Other placers included Michael Conley: 3,200M (10:35) 2nd place; Nick Williams: 1,600M (5:02.39) 2nd place; Christian Parker: 100M (12.03) 3rd place; Charlie Williams: Discus (110-9) 4th place; Isaac Smith: 3,200M (11:35.75) 5th place; the 4×800 relay team, 4th and the 4×100 relay team, 5th.
