The Cincinnati Bengals had what looks to be a pretty successful draft last week.

Cincy had wanted to draft a wide receiver in the first round, but the top four WRs had all been taken by the time the Bengals drafted in the 24th spot in the first round.

The Bengals instead took defensive back William Jackson III, who should put some pressure on starter Dre Kirkpatrick, who had only a decent season in 2015.

In the second round, the Bengals took the best receiver left on the board in Pitt’s Tyler Boyd.

Boyd will likely have an opportunity to start right away as the slot receiver.

The sleeper pick could be defensive tackle Andrew Billings, who thought he would be drafted in the first round on Thursday but fell all the way to the fourth round on Saturday.

He’s not very tall, but neither is Geno Atkins, and he’s done well at the position.

Thanks to trades, the Cleveland Browns had a lot more picks than the Bengals with 14, but I’m not sure those 14 are as good as the Bengals’ seven.

Cleveland’s draft highlights were probably wide receivers Corey Coleman and Rashard Higgins and pass rusher Emmanuel Ogbah.

The Browns still don’t have a legitimate “franchise” quarterback, so the losing will likely continue.
