M’burg track places third at Southeastern

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Mechanicsburg took third place in both the boys’ and girls’ meets at Southeastern on Saturday.

Bryce Waring won the long jump with a 21-00 jump, breaking the meet record after returning from injury. Waring also finished second in the 100.

Jared Butcher was second in the 400 and the 4×200 team of Waring, David Harvey, Phil Cook and Butcher won the race and set a meet record in 1:33.08.

Trent Fuller set a personal record and earned second place in the discus with a throw of 128-00.

For the girls, Emily Wilson won the 100 and long jump, Gabby Terry was second in the long jump and Stephanie Dietrich was second in the 3,200.

WL-S competes at Bulldog Invite

The West Liberty-Salem boys track team finished 11th out of 20 teams at the Milton-Union Bulldog Invitational.

Joey Adams won the 3,200 and Brandon Wolfe was third in the long jump.

Junior high track

The West Liberty-Salem junior high boys track team won the Bellefontaine Invitational.

Taking first place for WL-S were Ethan Larson (400), Johnny Buchenroth (5-02), Nick Burden (1,600, 800), the 4×200 team and the 4×400 team.
