OSTRANDER, Ohio – UU’s Courtney Tierney finished two strokes off the lead and third overall at the Laura Bump Invitational with a round of 79. The senior was UU’s top finisher during the rain-shortened event hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at the Mill Creek Golf Club.

Tierney, who has filled the UU record book during her career, tied her second-lowest round total as a Blue Knight. The round of 79 was also tied for the fourth-lowest round in program history.

As a team, the Blue Knights checked in with a one-round score of 390 in 14th place. UU came up 10 strokes short of a top-10 finish.

Also competing for the Blue Knights at the par-72 course were Jennifer Mitchell, Alison Fox and Monica Hurley.

Mitchell was the squad’s second-highest finisher with a round of 90 and tied for 32nd on the leaderboard.

Madonna University took home the team championship with a tourney-low 323. Madonna’s Ayla Bogie earned low-medalist honors with a 77.

UU is set to compete at the MEC Spring Invitational this weekend, hosted at the Edgewood Country Club in Charleston, West Virginia.
