SPRINGFIELD – The Clark County Park District has a number of activities scheduled over the next several weeks.

The Calling of the Owls will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at George Rogers Clark Park. Join our Park District volunteer to learn about and search for owls in the park. Learn the mysteries of the different owls in Ohio, where they live and why they are so important to the Ohio environment. We will also try to get them to check us out by making their “call” sound. Each person will receive a free “Owls of Ohio” guide and “Owl Sounds” CD. Please dress for the weather. This program will take place as long as the temperature is over 20 degrees.

The Caterpillar Club Preschool Program: Tracks! event will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Davidson Interpretive Center. Children explore animal tracks and make and compare tracks of their own. We’ll read a book, do an animal craft and play games in this fun, educational program. Please dress appropriately for walking in nature. Pre-registration is required and registration is limited to 15 preschoolers. Ages 3-5 and adult companions.

A Fireside History Chat: History by the Pint event will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8. Tonya Brock, brew master with the Carillon Brewing Company, will enlighten the crowd on the history of making beer. Sample some of the historic brews that our forefathers drank themselves! You must be 21 or over to attend this program, and the charge is $5 per person

Register for these programs at 937-882-6000, or at www.clarkcountyparks.org under Programs.
