M’burg FFA General Livestock team wins State Finals of Livestock judging

MECHANICSBURG – The Mechanicsburg General Livestock team competed in the State Finals of Livestock judging and emerged as the champions. Close to 1,000 students and 180 teams began competition in the state preliminaries. The top 10 teams from the prelims advance to the finals. The Burg went into the finals in 2nd place, but managed to pass Versailles and take the title. Miranda Lauchard of Mechanicsburg also won the individual State title as high individual.

Champaign County fared well in the state finals as several teams competed. Graham finished 5th and West Liberty Salem was 8th. Individually Hadley Levan of Triad was the 2nd overall individual in the State. Mason Havens of West Liberty Salem was 5th and Jimmy Stickley of Graham was 7th.
