The Urbana Police Division continues to investigate a two-vehicle injury crash in which a vehicle crashed into a front porch.

According to Chief Matt Lingrell, the crash occurred at the intersection of East Lawn Avenue and East Church Street Wednesday at 4:18 p.m. Urbana Police and Fire divisions responded to that location and found that after the initial collision, one of the vehicles had crashed into the front porch of 231 East Lawn Ave.

Lingrell stated police have determined that a 2001 Ford pickup driven by Andrew McKinnon, 40, of Urbana, was traveling eastbound on Church Street, failed to yield from the stop sign and entered the intersection, where he crashed into a 2009 Ford pickup driven by Donald Hall, 60, of Urbana.

The impact from the crash led to McKinnon’s vehicle striking the porch.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

McKinnon was taken by Urbana medics to Mercy Memorial Hospital. An update on his condition was not available at press time.

Hall was also injured, but was not transported from the scene.

Lingrell stated police cited McKinnon with failure to yield from a stop sign. He added other charges may follow.
