Urbana FFA members participate in Agricultural Industrial Diagnostics

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Champaign County held a competition for Agricultural Industrial Diagnostics, formerly known as Tractor Trouble Shooting. The contest was held at Farmers Equipment in Urbana. FFA members competing were Justin Preece, Nick Crumley, Adam Fannin and Gaven Napper. There were five tractors and each tractor had two problems to diagnose. At each tractor the team had 20 minutes to find the problems and fix them. To find these problems members had to do a walk around and check different components and operating systems on the equipment. Nick Crumley and Justin Preece had the highest score and advanced to District. The District competition was held on February 11th at the John Deere training facility in Plain City. Nick and Justin again diagnosed 5 different stations and also took an online test on their mechanical knowledge. The young team learned a lot from the competition and look forward to returning next year as a sophomore and junior.
