ST. PARIS – Former Graham Local Schools board member Clifford Baughman received the Admiration Award from the school board Feb. 13.

The school board created the award last fall to honor community members for their service to the school and community.

One of his former students and current board member Steve Prince said, “Mr. Baughman taught me in school and continued teaching me long after high school as a young professional.”

Baughman spent his entire career at Graham as an Agricultural Education teacher, program coordinator, coach, and later served several years as a school board member. School officials said Baughman’s efforts led to improvements to the academic programs and the physical facilities at Graham over the years.

Board member Mike Ludlow said the word “Admiration” is a great term to use to sum up his feelings.

“He was a teacher to other teachers. He has a brilliant mind, and was so well-rounded. We coached together and he was such a good sounding board for ideas,” he said.

Board member Miranda Uhl remembered Baughman as “the voice of Friday night football for years,” and both members echoed the impact he has had on sports at Graham.

Board Vice President Ryan Pine said he appreciated Baughman’s “service as a teacher and a board member over the years.”

“Cliff has been doing what’s best for students and what’s best for Graham for years,” board President Steve Setty said.
