NORTH LEWISBURG – The village council nominated council member Ted Murphy as council president for 2017 during Tuesday’s regular meeting.
The motion was approved 5-0, with Murphy abstaining from voting.
The organizational move was made after Mayor Cheryl Hollingsworth provided council with a list of board and committee assignments for 2017. She asked council to hold organizational meetings to elect committee chairs and to establish a plan for this year.
In other action:
•Hollingsworth asked residents to shovel their walkways and put down salt during inclement weather.
•During the hearing of citizens, council heard from Gene Schuchard regarding a neighbor allegedly housing as many as 17 dogs with no tags.
