The annual “No Room at the Inn” fundraiser for The Caring Kitchen will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

The event features hundreds of nativity sets from around the world. It is held at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 1013 East Lawn Ave., in Urbana. There is no charge for admission. Free offerings are accepted, and they go to The Caring Kitchen and the homeless in Champaign County.

The event includes a concert in the church sanctuary at 3 p.m., featuring the Messiah Lutheran Church Praise Team, the United Methodist Church Choir, the Presbyterian Church Choir and the Episcopal Church Choir, “No Room” organizer Mike Henson said. There will also be a hands-on children’s activity area and a silent charity auction.

Attendees can partake of a chicken and noodle dinner 2-5 p.m., which will feature homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, desserts and drinks. The meal costs $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 12.

Last year’s event raised $3,200 for The Caring Kitchen, Henson said previously.

Those wishing to take a nativity set to the church for display may do so from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1; from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2; and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Nativities should be picked up after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, or by special arrangement.
